Alley Oops - Basketball Clinic (Grade 1-3)

Alley Oops - Basketball Clinic
Ages 1st Thru 3rd Grade

Alley-Oops is a clinic for boys and girls to have FUN while playing a great team sport with a strong emphasis on techniques and fundamentals. Rules of the game and good sportsmanship will be covered along with the proper way to shoot lay-ups, jump shots, play defense, shoot free throws, and handle the basketball.

Arty and Crafty Workshop
Ages 1st Thru 6th Grade

Arty and Crafty is a class for boys and girls to help encourage creativity, experimentation and FUN during a variety of age-appropriate art projects, themes and skills.  Each week a variety of material and techniques will be explored.  This class is a great way to meet new friends and to learn from one another through each hands-on acitivty.

Note:  All materials on included in the course tuition except for a few items.  Please see the schedule below. (Events per week are subject to change)

Schedule:
    Week 1:  Door Knob Hangers
    Week 2:  Tie Dye (Bring a plain white shirt)
    Week 3:  Scrapbooking (Bring 5 pictures)
    Week 4:  Jewelry Making

Core Workout*

Develop long, lean muscles by focusing on the core of the body to assist in distributing strength evenly throughout the body.  This class will help you increase flexibility, improve posture, build strong, lean muscles and reduce stress.

Note:  Bring an exercise mat and water bottle to class.  Wear comfortable clothing.

It's Fall....let's get the lead out and finally work on those areas of body concern.  We'll concentrate on your mid-section and lower body and turn out the new you.  Some of the exercises will utilize exercise bands.  All fitness levels are welcome.

Zumba Zoom...Exercise with a lively beat!! Come try the new fitness craze that is sweeping the nation.  Zumba fuses Latin and global music, using dynamic and energetic dance themes to give you a dose of fun and fitness!  This workout is unlike any you have ever done before - you'll forget that you're working out because the focus of Zumba is the music!  You'll dance like you've never danced before, all the while gaining the benefits of an aerobic workout.  All fitness levels are welcome, and no previous dance background is necessary.  Anyone and everyone is invited to sweat it out with Zumba!

Low Impact Aerobics

Low impact aerobics is a fun program that is designed to challenge the heart and lungs while offering a more gentle approach to exercising the joints, yet providing an increase in bone density and metabolism.  Movements are easy while still maintaining a good overall workout.  We will be using a variety of equipment including light weights and stretch tubes.  This workout is appropriate for most adults regardless of age and prior exercising level.  Members are enouraged to work within their own health limitations and at their own pace.  Please bring your own water and wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes that allows you to move easily.  Please bring a one pound weight or something comparable (eg. full soup can or small bottle of water).

Tumbling Gym Kids
Ages 3-5

Tumbling Gym Kids is a class for boys and girls to help build awareness, coordination, motor skills, and self-confidence in children.  Focus points will be on body awareness, balance, locomotion, and special relationships to rhythm.  Activities will be tumbling, balance beam skills and other activites will be to promote self esteem.  Also, additional games will allow little kids to think outside the box and have FUN while working as a team to "get over the river with what materials they have" and "get the ball in the bucket without touching it" along with other obstacles.

Game examples:  Cats & Dogs, Bowling, Ball in a Cup, Musical Chairs

Jump Balls is a class for boys and girls to have FUN while playing with friends in an organized tournament of 3 on 3 basketball.  Form teams and have FUN!
